about
The Nike Air Max 97 was designed by Christian Tresser, with its form inspired by the ripples of water droplets hitting a pond. The iconic "Silver Bullet" colorway drew from the high-gloss, polished titanium components of mountain bikes — giving the shoe its signature metallic aesthetic.
This concept takes those same design principles and translates them into a limited edition object intended for Nike's shopping windows. The idea was to pair the shoe with a sculptural metal display piece, sold together as a collector's item. The geometry and form of the object are directly rooted in the ripple patterns and metallic aesthetic that define the Air Max 97 — creating a display piece that feels like a natural extension of the shoe itself.
